Kagoshima-Ken, Kagoshima city
I stayed about an hour and a half drive away from Kagoshima city, but I did have to go to Kagoshima to take care of a lot of business before I left Japan. This volcano is still active and it still spews ash on a regular basis. Many people decide to climb the mountain, but only at their discretion. They are warned.
